How to Track Your Expenses and Income with Money Flow

Money Flow is a tool suitable for both beginners and those who are well-versed in accounting. Here you can keep track of, plan, and analyze personal finances; keep track of finances with family or friends by setting up synchronization; or even manage accounting for a small business.

Create accounts

First, add one or more accounts that reflect your actual needs, such as "Cash," "Bank Card," etc. Accounts can be grouped in any order.

Set up categories

The program comes with a set of categories by default. If the structure does not suit you, you can always customize it to your liking: add necessary categories and subcategories, rename existing ones, and delete those you do not need. It is most convenient to work with categories in the corresponding settings section.

Enter transactions

Regularly record your expenses and income. For each transaction, in addition to the date, account, and category, you can add tags, specify payees and payers, remember the cities where they were made, as well as add comments and images.

Plan

Set up budgets by setting limits on spending by categories or tags per day, week, month, or year. If you are saving money for something important, create a goal for it.

Analyze

In the Report section, you can see all your expenses and income for the selected period grouped by categories, tags, counterparties, or places. For clarity, there are two interactive diagrams: a pie chart and a bar chart (histogram). The histogram is especially useful for analyzing changes over time.
